With the transition from Winter to Spring, comes the maple sap that gives us the delicious maple products. If you live in the Greater Moncton area, you are in luck because there are a lot of small family businesses who produce maple products, some even offer snow taffy, pancakes or full brunches.
Here are a few suggestions for you to try.
All-you-can-eat buckwheat pancakes, wood-fire baked beans in maple syrup, grilled-to-perfection sausages, scrumptious maple syrup, camp coffee, tea or juice. All-you-can-eat taffy. Free guided tours available.They're located at the end of Maple Ridge Trail, a 15-minute walk from Visions United Church, 1270 Gorge Rd. Look for the “4th camp with the green metal roof. RENTON BROTHERS FAMILY SUGARBUSH
This is a 5th generation maple sugarbush dating back to the 1800s they are camp #2 on Maple Ridge Lane, 1270 Gorge Rd. The one with the smiley face on the boiling room. They have taffy on the snow available and almost all products available including granulated maple sugar.
Located in Ste-Marie-de-Kent, this is fun for the entire family! A tradition since the Sugar Camp was first opened in the early 70's by Old Joe. Call to make group reservations for sugar licking as long as the snow lasts. (Usually from the end of February to early April). Their packages include sugar licking and a pancake meal.
